An 8-year-old girl — who was very proud to march in the 5-5 parade wearing her psychopharmacomania T-shirt [a shirt worn by many people at Occupy the American Psychiatric Association] — and who told her girl scout leader about it — was suspended from school for wearing it to class.
There was nothing in the dress code about wearing a T shirt like that, but she was suspended from school for 3 days. She went home crying, went to bed, covering up her head. She was devastated. She is particularly sensitive because she lost her mother about one year ago.
Small claims court is just around the corner, and the father is planning to take the matter there. I know he will prevail. Maybe the whole school will start to wear them. That’s probably my dream. I would like to see children across the country wearing them — and then see how many could be talked into ritalin or adderall — or the other drugs they are pushing on young children!
You can send cards or notes of solidarity to this young activist through Clancy, and they will be given to her. She would definitely appreciate that. Her name is Briana.
