Almost one year after the fatal beating of homeless man Kelly Thomas, three police officers involved in the assault are being terminated.
Officers Manuel Anthony Ramos, Joe Wolfe and Cpl. Jay Cicinelli of the Fullerton Police Department have all received termination letters, reports CBS2/KCAL9. The officers have 10 days to respond or they’ll be automatically fired.
Ramos is charged with one count each of second degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in Thomas’ death. Cicinelli is charged with one count each of involuntary manslaughter and excessive force.
Wolfe has not been criminally charged for his role in Thomas’ beating and he’s still on paid administrative leave, unlike the other two officers who have been on unpaid leave for months.
